Today Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Mistwalker Corporation and Arzest announced that its new mobile game set in the Terra Battle universe Terra Wars will soon enter a closed beta test phase.

We haven’t heard much about the game since last Summer, but apparently, it’s close to completion, and today the developer started recruiting applicants.

The beta test appears to be only in Japanese for now, and 2,000 testers will be selected via random lottery. The application can be found here, and there is a clause limiting it to people living in Japan. You’re also asked whether you can understand Japanese and your Google Play account email address.

Applications will be closed on May 24th, and it will be exclusively on Android even if the game is coming to iOS and PC as well. The goal of the beta is to test the balance of gameplay.

The game is a battle JRPG featuring clay art and music by Nobuo Uematsu, and that’s enough to sell me on it.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
