Hitman 3 Comes to Nintendo Switch Via The Cloud
Hitman 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch. Like Control, IO Interactive's next murder simulator comes to the system via the all-powerful cloud.
Today’s Nintendo Direct Mini gave fans a look at several great announcements coming down the pipes for the Switch. One of them is Hitman 3, the next game from IO Interactive. Of course, it’s not exactly the same thing coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X next January. Instead, players can look for something more like the Stadia version as you’ll be streaming this bad boy off of the cloud. Give it a look below.
It’s quite intriguing to see Nintendo bringing both Hitman 3 and Control to the Switch via the cloud today. They’ve yet to announce exactly how you’ll access these titles; however, at the very end of the Hitman trailer, you might notice some extra text. Here, we can see that playing the game will require you to download a free launcher app, and then you can purchase an Access Pass. It sounds simple enough, though it certainly seems like you’ll only be able to play on good wifi. So, dreams of playing Hitman 3 on the go are pretty much gone.
That said, it is going to be fun playing Hitman from the bed is almost as great. Hopefully, we continue to see Nintendo pursuing deals like these. Obviously, the Switch can’t compete in sheer graphical power, which makes this route a logical step. Sure, you’re losing some of the Switch’s mobility, but it’s a price worth paying if you don’t have a PS5 or Xbox Series X.
Hitman 3 comes to PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on January 20. The Nintendo Switch version doesn’t appear to have a firm release date just yet, but I’d assume it’s coming sometime around there.
