Hitman 3 Easter Egg Unearths an Image of Botched Jesus
Just when you thought things couldn't get any weirder, they do.
Hitman 3 has some weird easter eggs that range from a hippo that pops up for a chat to a UFO abduction. They are everywhere. It certainly makes for some interesting gameplay and where would we be without them? Really nothing I can say next will surprise you if you’re a seasoned Hitman player but let me try. According to a Reddit user, ElksEye, they have stumbled across the image of the “Botched Jesus” as they made their way around the game and it’s pretty terrifying.
If you’re not sure what the hell the Botched Jesus is, well, it all happened a few years ago in Spain. A woman called Cecilia Giménez was attending her local place of worship when she saw a fresco of Jesus Christ had been vandalized. Taking it upon herself to fix up the painting, originally painted by Elías García Martínez in 1930, she only made poor Jesus worse by making him look like a giant potato. Word of the artistic travesty spread across the world, and the solemn Ecce Homo quickly took on a less dignified identity: “Ecce Mono.” Behold the Monkey.
If you fancy taking it upon yourself to go looking for this painting, you’ll find it in the Berlin mission in the office on the second level. Make sure you take a picture of yourself there and comment underneath when you’ve found it!
Hitman 3 has been a great success for the IO interactive team with the third entry in IO’s rebooted series receiving a positive critical reception and even making it through with a record-breaking launch in the franchise’s history regaining all project costs in just under one week. If some new DLC for Hitman 3 is what you’re after, you could be in luck as IO has confirmed that it’s in the works.
Hitman 3 is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
