Today, IO Interactive had several new announcements surrounding Hitman 3. They gave us a great look at one of the levels coming to the new game and will soon let Epic Game Store patrons download the 2016 Hitman game for free. That last part is important as we take a look at the biggest Hitman 3 news of the day. As part of announcing when pre-orders will start, IOI announced that the PC version of the game will come exclusively to the Epic Game Store. That exclusivity deal runs for a year. So, players who want the game on other services will have to wait 12 months for new Hitman content. Importantly, IOI did confirm that progression and unlocks from your Hitman 2 save on Steam will carry over to Hitman 3 on the Epic Game Store. Which, at the very least, should make the transition much simpler.Obviously, most people would probably prefer for the game just came out everywhere. That said, with IOI now self-publishing, it makes sense for them to find a partner like Epic. And, they're doing what they can to make it easy to move a save across stores. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than some have done.Hitman 3 launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in January 2021. If you'd like to see Agent 47 become a hardboiled detective in pursuit of murdering a target, give IOI's latest trailer a watch below. Personally, I'm kind of hoping 47 can actually solve the murder instead of committing one, but only time will tell.
