Speaking through Gamesindustry, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak revealed that the company has recovered all Hitman 3 project costs in just under a week."It has been a labor of love between our fans and everyone at the studio. As the developer and publisher, we are immensely proud that we can say Hitman 3 is already profitable," said Abrak. "That puts us in a really good place and allows us to confidently move forward with our ambitious plans for future projects."This news comes just days after the developer revealed on Twitter that Hitman 3 set a new record as the series' best digital launch yet. Although IO Interactive is yet to reveal any official sales numbers, they are presumably pretty impressive considering how quickly the game became profitable. Gamesindustry reported that the conclusion to the "World of Assassination" trilogy was the first full game in the series to be self-published by the company. Keeping the public relations and marketing teams close to the developers is something that Abrak believes proved beneficial to the studio.

"That combination makes us very effective as a publisher because we have our creative and development teams working closely with publishing and marketing throughout the entire project," said Abrak. "We need that collaboration because we all want to create a quality product."

Abrak went on to explain how they know their fans expect a high-quality product from IO Interactive, so delivering in a big way for Agent 47's latest adventure was crucial.

"We demand of each other that our games are hand-crafted, meticulously detailed and unique. At this point, we'd be doing our community a disservice if we delivered anything less than that," said Abrak. "They're used to us setting a really high bar for quality and memorable experiences, so we keep that mentality at the front of our mind, not only for Hitman but also our future projects."

In other Hitman 3 news, a group of speedrunners completed the game's opening stage, titled "On Top of the World," in a mind-boggling nine seconds. IO Interactive is also working to fix the game's incorrect Arabic writing. The world's greatest assassin earned an 8 out of 10 from Dualshockers and currently holds an 87 out of 100 on Metacritic.

Hitman 3 is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch and PC.
