Hitman fans rejoice! Your favorite bald-headed super-assassin is back for a third-round early next year with Hitman 3 on next-gen consoles. The game was officially announced today on the PS5 reveal stream. As you might expect, they didn't show much; however, you likely know what to expect from IO Interactive's brand of murderous shenanigans. Check out the official trailer to get a taste of what's coming.

Importantly, Hitman 3 is coming to both PS4 and PS5 when it launches in January 2021. That means you'll still be to enjoy the game even if you don't pick up a PS5 at launch. It's a move that makes a ton of sense for a developer like IOI and should make fans very happy.

We should get more details over the next few months as more and more of these streams happen. Currently, the game only seems to be announced for PS4 and PS5, but I would be surprised if it doesn't also come to PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Those future reveals should pull back the curtain on the different locales we'll be visiting. The huge, expertly-built levels are the best part of modern Hitman titles. They've already done several great ones for Hitman 1 and 2, but there's still a ton of places they could go. I mean, have they done like a moonbase yet? That seems like a winner. The trailer prominently shows off a skyscraper, so that feels like the logical next move.

Hitman 3 launches on PS4 and PS5 in January 2021. Again, it's not clear if it's coming to other consoles as well, but I'd be very surprised if they don't bring it to PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
