Panic Button and Perfect World Entertainment are partnering for a Nintendo Switch port of Hob and an enhanced version of Torchlight II.
Panic Button has risen to prominence recently due to their great work on several Nintendo Switch ports like DOOM, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Warframe. Today, we learned more about what the developer will be porting next. Chinese publisher Perfect World Entertainment announced a partnership with Panic Button today to bring Runic Games’ Hob and Torchlight II to Nintendo Switch in 2019.
The Switch version of Hob will launch on April 4 for $19.99 and is officially titled Hob: The Definitive Edition. According to Perfect World Entertainment and Panic Button, this port will earn its new title by adding new camera controls, improved UI, and Switch exclusive HD Rumble and touchscreen support. In regards to this port, Perfect World’s Senior Vice President of Global Publishing Yoon Im says Panic Button has “done a masterful job of bringing Hob to life on the Nintendo Switch.” You can check out a trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of the game below:
Details are scarcer when it comes to Torchlight II. For now, we know that it is being developed by Panic Button, is coming to multiple platforms including Switch, will release in Fall 2019, and that it will be “enhanced” when compared to the original from 2012. While the original developer Runic Games may have shut down, at least these two of its games will be seeing new life on other platforms later this year.
