As part of the Back To Hogwarts 2022 event, a yearly presentation of everything Harry Potter, Hogwarts Legacy continued their recent output of new information, now giving us tours of the common rooms of each of the four student houses; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each video is only about a minute long, yet they show off the rooms quite extensively, including their distinct magical entrances.
The attention to detail found in every common room cannot be understated; this refers not only to graphical fidelity, but also to the number of ornaments, tapestry, and decorations, all uniquely representative of each house. Fans of the movies will certainly recognize their faithfulness, especially with the most prominently shown Gryffindor house. The featurette showed off a lot more footage than just the Common Rooms, so the eternally hungry Hogwarts Legacy fans should watch it in its entirety. Community Manager Chandler Wood made many exclamations throughout about just how large and explorable the playable terrain is, this includes the castle, as well as areas around it, like Hogsmeade Village, the Forbidden Forest, and even areas beyond the Black Lake. Wood touts how he constantly gets lost inside the castle, given how many options the player has.
For the first time, a section of castle ruins on Hogwarts' grounds was confirmed to be part of the game. These were inspired by the ones traversed through in the Universal theme park ride, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and will have a side quest dedicated to them. Wood states there are "many more references for astute fans to pick up on throughout the game."
Some in-game content bonuses were also revealed, but these are not locked behind any expensive edition. Instead, the Hogwarts Legacy team is rewarding the more die-hard fans, by giving some goodies to those who have a Harry Potter Fan Club account. Via this webpage, you can link your WB games account to your fan club account, and you'll get your very own wand in-game; the specific wand which "chooses you" after performing a personality quiz on the site. Furthermore, by linking your account you'll get an exclusive set of house-themed robes, the ones seen in the common room videos.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch on February 10th, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
