Avalanche Software, the developers of Hogwarts Legacy, have created a spell-casting cat that can take out a player with little to no effort.

Unfortunately, this hilarious spell-casting cat isn't actually available in the official game, and was simply made as an internal joke before being shared online. In the clip, shared by Avalanche's community manager Chandler Wood, the character can be seen casting a basic spell at a cat, only for the furry feline to defend itself with protego before casting avada kedavra and killing the player.

"After seeing how some people have treated cats in the game, devs made a fun little internal thing that I couldn't not share," Wood said in the amusing tweet. After sharing the short clip, he also explained that the feature "is an internal thing only, and will not make its way into the retail version of the game. Just wanted to share some of the fun we have here at Avalanche."

Although the studio is clearly still having plenty of fun with Hogwarts Legacy behind the scenes, Avalanche is hard at work on bringing the wizarding RPG to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

However, the last-gen versions of the game appear to be going through quite a rocky development cycle. Originally set to release alongside the next-gen versions of the game, Avalanche delayed the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release to April 4th. It was then recently confirmed that another delay would push them back even further, now set to release on May 5th.

Assuming that there are no further delays, the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy is set to arrive a little later, as the current release date is set for July 25th.

Hogwarts Legacy was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC back in February. In our review, we gave Hogwarts Legacy a modest score of 7 out of 10, calling it "incredibly immersive" but with no real innovation.
