In response to a tweet asking about the ray tracing options that can be toggled on in Hogwarts Legacy, WB Games Support's Twitter account has revealed that players will get options to enable or disable ray tracing for shadows, reflections, ambient occlusion, and quality presets. There was no mention of ray tracing for global illumination. These options will only be available on PC, but it remains unknown how the console versions will reflect ray tracing. Previously, it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy would require an RTX 3090Ti to run at the 4K resolution with the highest quality preset while hitting a constant 60 FPS. While this already sounds like a huge requirement for a cross-gen title, the game will hopefully support DLSS 3 at launch, which might boost the performance and increase the FPS once you enable ray tracing. That being said, the game's performance completely depends on its optimization level.

Hogwarts Legacy is supposed to use Denuvo anti-tamper on PC, which is aimed to help the publisher keep the title safe from getting cracked by piracy teams. Previously, Gotham Knights also launched with the same anti-tamper technology, but the developers disabled it only a few days after launch to improve performance on PC.

As one of the highly anticipated titles of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy currently has the highest amount of pre-orders on Steam and Amazon compared to other titles that will launch this year.
