Developer Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight released back in February on PC, Mac, and Linux.

Hollow Knight is a 2D Metroidvania platformer with a beautiful hand-drawn art style. The game received good scores from critics and is currently sitting at a “Very Positive” majority in the user-score section on Steam.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting any new information about the game’s Nintendo Switch port. One fan posted to Hollow Knight’s Steam Community discussion board asking about the switch port. Matthew Griffin, a PR representative at Team Cherry posted that the game might take longer than expected.

“It will take time. Probably between 6-12 months if I had to guess.”

The folks at Team Cherry announced back in January that they’d be canceling production of the Wii U version of Hollow Knight and in return they would bring it to the Switch instead. They also announced in March that Hollow Knight had already sold 65,000 copies in its first month.

Hollow Knight is available now on PC, Mac, and Linux. No Switch date has been announced as of right now, although the game’s page on Nintendo’s website says 2017.
