Horizon: Zero Dawn Fan and Cosplayer Keyvei Celebrates Second Anniversary with Awesome Cosplay
As we celebrate 2 years since the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn by Guerrilla Games, cosplayer Keyvei showcases why she is the cream of the crop when it comes to nailing that Aloy look
It’s hard to believe that it’s been two years since Horizon Zero Dawn released on this day February 28, 2017, but it’s not hard to believe that it has sold well over 10 million copies sold worldwide.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Hermen Hulst who is Guerrilla Games managing director talked about how moved the team is by the reaction from the Horizon Zero Dawn fans and how much they appreciate them taking the time to share Aloy’s journey with the studio “The idea that we were able to bring Aloy’s journey to so many players is astounding. We’ve been deeply moved by the enormous amount of fan creations you’ve posted online, as well as the heartfelt letters you’ve sent sharing your favorite moments from Aloy’s journey.”
While many people adored taking on the formidable adventure with Aloy – myself included – it’s safe to say that one cosplayer has gone the extra mile in showing her love for the title. Cosplayer, crafter, and self-confessed gamer Keyvei takes the brave heroine to new levels as she dons Aloy’s complicated attire from head to toe, even including Aloy’s recognizable blue and white face-paint for that added je ne sais quoi.
Keyvei adds to the Aloy look even more so with her long red hair and freckles – if a Horizon Zero Dawn movie were ever to be made, I’d be disappointed if she wasn’t cast. Being a crafter, I can only assume that she also makes her own costumes and weaponry too, which are exact replicas that we see Aloy carrying in the title.
The attention to every minute detail that Keyvei has given this cosplay is second to none – I think a video of how she made the Shadow Hunter Bow and the different fabrics used for the Aloy outfit would be an amazing watch. (That’s a really big hint, just in case Keyvei sees this!)
My only hope now is that Guerrilla Games will bring Aloy back in a sequel. I’ve already played through the game a few times now, but it’s honestly still not enough and it’s still one of the best games I’ve played in years. If you’ve yet to experience it, you can pick Horizon Zero Dawn up for the PS4 – you won’t be disappointed.
