Today, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Guerrilla Games released the first two trailers in a new video series titled "The Machines."

The one introduces and details the machine, Thunderjaw. According to Guerrilla Games, the combat-class Thunderjaw is one of the deadliest machines you will encounter in the game. It is said to be a formidable beast equipped with cannons, disc launchers, a mouth laser, and with powerful ranged attacks that will quickly cut down any hunter foolish enough to alert it. Space permitting, it can also unleash with a devastating range of melee attacks such as charges and tail swipes.

The thunderjaw is a bipedal machine with features akin to those of a theropod dinosaur, particularly the Tyrannosaurus rex, meaning it has powerful and bulky legs, a long body, and a tail to maintain equilibrium. As you would expect from the name, the head of the machine features two sets of mechanical components resembling mandibles that spread to the sides whenever it opens up for something like a roar. The majority of its body is sheltered with 93 armor plates, making it difficult to take it down even with explosive arrows. In order to take it down, you will have to hone in on one of its few weak points, like its open-muscle circuitry found behind its legs.

It can move with surprising ferocity when alerted, and is capable of lashing out with an array of melee attacks that include powerful lunge bites and tail swipes. For ranged attacks, it fires off cryo mortars that freeze the target on impact.
