Neo: The World Ends With You is finally out, featuring four main characters: Rindo, Nagi, Fret, and Minamimoto, a new battle system nearly as fun as the original's stylus-based fights, and a modernized setting - how long does it take to beat this new sequel?

How long is Neo: the World Ends With You / TWEWY 2?

Back in April, Square Enix actually revealed how long is the game in an interview with our Japanese peers at 4Gamer. The interview featured producer Tomohiko Hirano, series director Tatsuya Kondo, and game director Hiroyuki Ito.

Translating Hiroyuki Ito's comments, he mentioned: "This sequel is much longer than the original game. I think even just focusing on the main story to reach the ending will keep you busy for around 50 hours."

The original TWEWY on Nintendo DS is around 20 hours long, so Neo is pretty much twice as long.

Tatsuya Kondo added: "I think you'll definitely go over 100 hours if you do all the side content. We have hardcore bonus fights, and there's also collecting all the badges and all the social links."

Now that the game is out, glancing at the trophy PSN accounts data out so far, it does look like you'll easily take over 100 hours to Platinum the game. However, personally speaking, I consider 100% clearing a game and getting the Platinum trophy two different things. There is absolutely no value in pursuing a "fight this enemy 1000 times" trophy. You can clear all of a game's side content without ever getting stupid trophies like these.
