Last month, Konami announced a flurry of new digital titles for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, one of which will be a mobile project called Cross Duel.

The mobile game is still within its early days of development, with more details and possibly a release date to be announced by Konami in the near future. Cross Duel will introduce multiplayer gameplay for newcomers and veteran players to soak up, offering fast-paced, four-player Duels.

How to apply for Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel Closed Beta

Konami will be opening up a testing period for Cross Duel in the coming months and it is looking for players to become a part of the closed beta experience.

To apply for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel Closed Beta:

  • Head to the Cross Duel Closed Beta page on the Konami website.
  • Enter your Apple ID or Google Account Email Address
  • Click ‘Apply’ at the bottom of the page

The application deadline for the closed beta is August 15, 2021. After this date, winners will be notified by Konami via email from August to early September.

The operating systems that the closed beta supports include iOS 13.0 or later and Android 6.0 or higher. Recommended specifications include an iPhone XR or higher and a Snapdragon 845 or higher with 4GB RAM or more for Android.

As the closed beta will present a test version of the game, some features will be unavailable during the test period. Available items and rewards will also differ from the final release. Game data accumulated during the closed beta test period will not be able to be carried over to the official release.

Konami also announced Master Duel, which will be released worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS and Android. A release date for Master Duel has still to be announced, however fans can look forward to the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game to feature 4K graphics.

The working title Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this Fall and is the worldwide release of the digital Japanese card game of the same name. Duel Links will also be welcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V World, which is expected to arrive in-game very soon.
