Pokemon GO: How to Beat Cliff May 2021 - Luminous Legends Y New Line Up

Every month the Team GO Rocket Leaders return to Pokemon GO with a bunch of extremely tough Pokemon.

As you would expect, May is no different, however, this time the stakes are a little higher thanks to the Luminous Legends X Timed Research.

This research requires players to beat all three Rocket Leaders before encountering and defeating the GO Rocket Boss.

With that in mind here’s how to beat Cliff in May 2021, including counters for some of his strongest Pokemon. This considers his recent change from the new event.

Best Team Compositions

This is always hard as you never know which team Cliff will be rocking, however, there you can see a few consistent weaknesses cropping up in his current team.

The Pokemon that I’d recommend bringing most are:

  • Mega Pidgeot
  • Zekrom/Thundurus
  • Lucario

These three offer counters to the widest range of Cliff’s Pokemon – however, if he brings out something you haven’t covered, you’re best to back out and readjust your team.
