Every Mega Aerodactyl Weakness In Pokemon GO
Some Mega Evolution Pokemon are the exact same typing as the original, while some others gain new typings such as Mega Charizard X gain new typings. However, Mega Aerodactyl is like the former, keeping the exact same Rock/Flying typing as its base form.
The good news here is that there is no type of move that is Super Effective against both Rock and Flying types, but there are still plenty of weaknesses as a result of the two typings.
Specifically, Mega Aerodactyl is going to be weak to Ice, Electric, Water, Rock, and Steel type moves. In addition, the types you are going to want to avoid using are Ground, Flying, Fire, Poison, Bug, and Normal type moves.
How to Beat Mega Aerodactyl – Raid Guide and Best Counters
With the aforementioned weaknesses for Mega Aerodactyl, there are plenty of options to choose from to take it down in Mega Raids.
Funnily enough, one of the best counters for Mega Aerodactyl is Aerodactyl itself with Rock Throw and Rock Slide. Rhyperior and Tyranitar are two others with Rock moves like Smack Down that are really useful to use.
Any good Water types such as Swampert, Blastoise, and Gyarados are good options with moves like Water Gun or Waterfall and Hydro Cannon or Hydro Pump.
Manectric, Raikou, Zapdos, and Magnezone are great options for Electric type moves like Thunder Fang or Thunder Shock and Wild Charge or Thunderbolt.
You could also throw out Ice types like Abomasnow or Mamoswine with moves like Powder Snow and either Weather Ball or Avalanche, as well as Steel types like Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash.
Beyond these base Pokemon, using Mega or Shadow versions of the listed Pokemon are always recommended for the quickest defeat of Mega Aerodactyl in these raids.
How Many Trainers Are Required To Beat It?
Mega Aerodactyl certainly isn’t the spongiest of Pokemon to fight in raids, but it also is far from a pushover. Considering it is a Mega Raid, you should have no less than four trainers to take on Mega Aerodactyl.
While it may be possible with only three, you would need to have three best friends with the absolute best counters available to even have a chance, which still may not be enough. Instead, you should go in with four to five and be able to have a lot better chance.
The more people you bring in, the quicker you will be able to take down Mega Aerodactyl, which will mean more Premier Balls to try and catch it in the end as well.
