After a Candy-filled week one, Pokemon GO's Halloween event's second week is here, focusing on "Ghoulish pals".

This week will bring about the next part of the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research Story, as well as new wild Pokemon, raid bosses and most excitingly, two Pokemon GO debuts.

The two Pokemon that are appearing for the first time are Pumpkaboo, which will appear in a variety of different sizes, as well as Phantump. Both Pokemon will be appearing in raid battles.

As with all new Pokemon, Phantump may cause a small amount of difficulty due to a lack of familiarity with its types, strengths and weaknesses. So, to help you out, here's how to beat Phantump in Pokemon GO.

Every Phantump Weakness in Pokemon GO

Phantump, and it's evolution Trevenant, have an interesting dual Ghost and Grass typing. This leaves them with a total of five weaknesses but six resistances.

It's weaknesses are Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost and Ice-type moves, whereas it resists, Electric, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Normal and Water-type moves. If you want to beat Phantump, be sure to bear this in mind.

How to Beat Phantump - Raid Guide and Best Counters

You shouldn't have too many issues trying to beat Phantump considering it's a One-Star raid boss, however, here are some of the best Pokemon you can bring with you to raid battles.

The likes of Mega Charizard X and Y, Mega Gengar, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Houndoom, Mega Abomasnow and Mega Gyarados are all great for a Mega option.

Alongside those, any of the following Pokemon will help you beat Phantump easily - Reshiram, Yveltal, Salamence, Moltres, Ho-Oh, Honchkrow, Charizard, Gengar, Darkrai, Zarude, Rayquaza, Hoopa, Darmanitan, Weavile, Heatran, Jynx, Tyranitar, Entei, Chandelure, Giratina, Dragonite, Typhlosion and Staraptor.

While these are the top picks, just about any strong Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost and Ice-type will do the job here.
