One of the choices you will have to make in NBA 2K22 is which affiliation you want to join within NBA 2K22's next-gen The City, but some may feel like they made a mistake and want to change affiliations later.

Players will right away be assigned to one of the four affiliations they want to join very early in their MyCareer. The choices for the four affiliations are Beasts of the East, North Side Knights, South City Vipers, and the Western Wildcats.

Unlike the Houses in Harry Potter though, you can change your affiliation if you do not like the one you were sorted into in NBA 2K22.

What Is An Affiliation?

Affiliations are teams that each have their own borough and courts within The City. Obviously, you are not limited to just your own affiliation area, but rather can explore all areas of The City.

Your player will be able to rank up their Player Rep within their own Affiliation, with bonuses being given for playing on their own courts. You want to go off and take on others on their own courts as well though to show who is the king of the affiliations.

As a result, you will always want to make sure that you are getting everyone in your squad into the same affiliation as yourself, which means you will likely have to know how to change affiliations for at least some of the squad.

How To Change Affiliations In NBA 2K22

Like said above, you will be assigned one of the four affiliations as soon as you start your MyCareer journey with your MyPlayer. The good news is that it is not too overly hard to change it, though you will lose any progress you had earned in the previous affiliation.

To change affiliations in NBA 2K22, you need to head to the Town Hall of the affiliation that you want to join, which are easy to find on the map.

Once you are there, talk to the guards up at the front and it will bring up the Affiliation Transfer Request screen. From here, pick the new affiliation that you want to switch to and confirm it.

Switching to a new affiliation will put you back at square one with Player Rep and everything in NBA 2K22, so make sure you really want to change affiliations before you go through with it.
