Among Us fans have a lot to look forward to this year. It was earlier announced that the developers are working on a sequel to the game. However, that was scrapped later on and InnerSloth decided to focus on the existing game itself. The much-coveted Airship map is slated to release very soon, along with numerous other features and updates in the game. Quite recently, the developers released a new update for the game. The update introduced the quick chat feature to the game.

What is quick chat in Among Us?

With the introduction of the quick chat feature, Among Us makes it quite easier for players to communicate in the game. The quick chat consists of various pre-defined messages which players can send while in the game. These quick chat messages consist of location info, questions, and much more. However, there is a catch. While other players can easily toggle between quick chat and free chat, it should be noted that players under 18 years of age will not be able to use the free chat anymore.

When you start the game after the update, players will need to specify their age. If your age is under 18, the free chat will be disabled for you and you will have to use the quick chat only. Thankfully, even if you have entered the wrong age, you can change it. Here is how to do so.

How to change your age in Among Us

  • Go to "C:\Users\"Your Name"\AppData\LocalLow\InnerSloth\Among Us\playerPrefs". You need to enable hidden files and folders to be able to see it.
  • Rename the playerPrefs file to playerPrefs.txt.
  • Open with Notepad and you will see a date there. Replace the date with your desired date.
  • Save the file and remove the ".txt" extension by renaming it.

After that, open Among Us and you will be able to toggle between the Quick chat and free chat option.

Among Us is available on PC.
