The big 2.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is about to roll out so knowing how to download it is a must for players.

An exciting video was shown off during the September Nintendo Direct that revealed that a new free update would be making the rounds on November 5 for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The huge 2.0 update will bring a host of new content that will include returning characters, new activities, recipes, farming and so much more.

The update is launching on Nintendo eShop on November 5th but before all of that, here’s how you can download the update and get stuck into the new content.

How to download the ACNH 2.0 update

Whether you want to start all over again in Animal Crossing: New Horizons or continue on with all of that progress made, here’s how you can get started with the huge update.

  • Quite an obvious one but you’ll need to make sure your Switch is connected to the internet
  • Once you have done that, head on over to home menu, select Animal Crossing: New Horizons and launch the game.
  • The newest 2.0 update should now be downloaded and installed automatically.
  • One way to tell is that the newest version of the game will be displayed on your screen

If you want to experience the new Happy Home Paradise DLC, you can pick that up from the Nintendo Shop on November 5th which should be made available around 14:00 GMT (15:00 CET).
