Pokemon Legends: Arceus hit shelves yesterday and, alongside a bunch of new Pokemon, brings a range of returning favourites including Machop, Machoke and its evolved form, Machamp.

The powerful trio have been fan-favourites since Pokemon Red and Blue and at this point are stalwarts in the series.

However, despite being some of the longest-running creatures, Machoke has a special evolution method that still, to this day, confuses players.

So, to help you out, here's exactly what you need to do to evolve your Machoke into a Machamp in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

How to Evolve Machoke to Get Machamp in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Machamp is an incredibly powerful Pokemon so it's easily understandable why players would want one in their party.

The first step to getting a Machamp is getting a Machop or Machoke which can be found in the following locations in Pokemon Legends: Arceus:

Machop:

  • Obsidian Fieldlands - Oreburrow Tunnel, Obsidian Falls
  • Cobalt Coastlands - Castaway Shore
  • Coronet Highlands - Bolderoll Ravine, Cloudcap Pass
  • Alabaster Icelands - Icebound Falls, Arena's Approach, Snowfall Hot Spring

Machoke:

  • Obsidian Fieldlands - Obsidian Falls
  • Cobalt Coastlands - Castaway Shore
  • Coronet Highlands - Bolderoll Ravine, Cloudcap Pass
  • Alabaster Icelands - Icebound Falls, Arena's Approach, Snowfall Hot Spring

If you opted to go for a Machop over a Machoke, you will need to help it to level 28 to evolve it to Machoke.

After you have the Machoke, you can evolve it into a Machamp relatively easily. All you need to do is trade your Machoke with a friend and this will trigger the evolution. Just make sure it's with somebody you trust so they don't run off with your precious Pokemon!
