How to Get Hoopa Unbound in Pokemon GO

As part of the Special Research, players will have the opportunity to get Hoopa in its Unbound form in Pokemon GO - here is how to do that.

For the last three months, Pokemon GO players have been getting stuck into the Season of Mischief and more specifically, the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research Story.

As things start to wind down now, Niantic has confirmed that one more special event is on the way, titled Mischief Unbound.

This event will run from Friday, November 26 to Monday, November 29 and will include a range of bonuses, plus another brand new Special Research Story.

As part of the Special Research, players will also have the opportunity to get Hoopa in its Unbound form in Pokemon GO - here is exactly how to do that.

How to Get Hoopa Unbound - Step One

The first step players will need to complete in order to unlock Hoopa Unbound is to complete the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research Story.

This story has 16 steps and has been running since the beginning of the season.

Players will have until Wednesday, December 1 at 9:59 am local time to complete the research and gain the ability to get Hoopa Unbound.

Thankfully, should this prove too difficult for players, Niantic is offering a paid option. If the research isn't completed by December 1, players can pay $4.99 (or the equivalent in their local currency) and gain access to the Mischief Unbound Special Research Story.

How to Get Hoopa Unbound In Pokemon GO - Step Two

Thankfully, the second step to getting Hoopa Unbound is a little easier than the first.

Once you have unlocked the Mischief Unbound Special Research Story, you will need to complete the second stage of tasks.

Upon doing so, you'll then gain the ability to change Hoopa into its Unbound form in Pokemon GO. This is done much like evolving a Pokemon on Hoopa's screen.

It will cost players 50 Hoopa Candy and 10,000 Stardust to change it into its Unbound form and 10 Hoopa Candy and 2,000 Stardust to revert it back. Niantic has confirmed that players will "earn some of the resources needed to change Hoopa’s form by completing the Mischief Unbound Special Research story."

After you've used your resources from the Mischief Unbound Research, however, you will need to earn Hoopa Candy by either walking with the Pokemon or using Rare Candies.
