Here's how to get legendary pokemon Shaymin in the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes.

Nintendo, The Pokemon Company and Game Freak held on February 27 the Pokemon Day showcase livestream to celebrate the 26th anniversary of the franchise. Besides announcing Gen 9, a new update for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl was announced too: players can now get legendary pokemon Shaymin. Here's how you do it.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl adds Shaymin

Shaymin can be obtained via the Mystery Gift feature in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and only after clearing the Sinnoh Pokedex. Shaymin will be available until March 27, so you have several weeks left to fill your pokedex. You can only get one Shaymin per save data.

How to get Shaymin in Pokemon BDSP, step-by-step method

• You need to have entered the Hall of Fame and obtained the National Pokedex.
• You can obtain the National Pokedex by talking to Professor Rowan after completing the Sinnoh Pokedex.
• You'll need to update the game and connect to the internet to receive Shaymin via the Mystery Gift menu.
• Shaymin will be obtainable until March 27, 2022, at 14:59 UTC.

In Japan, and later on in other parts of the world, The Pokemon Company via Pokemon Centers would often organize pokemon giveaways in real-life. That's how Shaymin was first distributed in Japan back on the original Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games on Nintendo DS. It's nice to see these event giveaways being recreated online in the remakes.
