How to Get to the Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

November 19, 2021

Get ready to explore the redesigned tunnels of the Grand Underground in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

As of today, Pokemon trainers everywhere will be exploring every nook and cranny in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl as they keep their eyes out for treasures and secrets in the Grand Underground.

This time around, the Grand Underground will be much bigger than that of the original title which is sewn together in a series of tunnels beneath the Sinnoh region.

Players will also find that wild Pokémon can be found in Pokémon Hideaways as they adventure into the underground area but firstly, and most importantly, here’s how to get there.

How to Reach the Grand Underground

To enter the Underground area, players will first need to get to Eterna City. Once you have done that, find the second gym leader who lives beside the Pokemon Center – you can’t miss it with its blue door.

Have a chat with them and pick yourself up an Explorers Kit which grants you access to start digging and enter the Grand Underground at any time.

What can you find in the Grand Underground?

As well as Pokemon Hideaways, Secret Bases and multiplayer activities to take part in, you’ll also be able to find and collect treasures like orbs, gems, statues, fossils, Evolution Stones, spheres and shards.

In the Grand Underground multiplayer, you can play locally and online and take part in minigames, finding fossils together and generally having fun by exploring.

Pokémon: Shining Pearl and Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond is available on November 19th, 2021 for Nintendo Switch.
