Animal Crossing New Horizons has received its major 2.0 update and with it comes the addition of being able to plant crops such as wheat and others in the game.
This game has featured many different kinds of mechanics, from getting different fruits to planting flowers to enhance the look of your island.
Cooking is something that is brand new in the final major update for Animal Crossing New Horizons and wheat is one of the items you will want to cultivate for those dishes.

How To Get Wheat In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Animal Crossing New Horizons has added new features to the game since launch, with the addition of pumpkins in a past update as a crop in the game.
Prior to pumpkins, there was nothing in the game you could grow except trees and flowers, so people were hoping that was a good sign that we'd be getting more.
That has now come with update 2.0 in Animal Crossing New Horizons by adding wheat among other new crops. To actually get wheat, you're going to have to grow it yourself in the game, which is a multi-step process and there are two ways you can get it.
1. From Leif on Your Island
When Leif visits your island in front of Resident Services, he will come with a start for a type of crop. This can be wheat. From there you can purchase it from him either singly, or in batches of five.
2. From Leif on Harv's Island
If you're lucky enough to have made Leif a permanent fixture on Harv's island, you'll be relying less on luck. You can visit the little sloth as regularly as you like to purchase the crop from him there.
Do You Need Happy Home Paradise DLC?
The good news for Animal Crossing fans is that Nintendo is offering plenty of content for players regardless of if they are purchasing the Happy Home Paradise DLC or not.
Update 2.0 for Animal Crossing New Horizons is completely free for players to download and will include all of the new cooking mechanics, including the new types of crops.
This means you just need to make sure to have the latest version of the game updated when you start playing now and you will have access to this new free content.
