Here's how to upgrade your PS4 version of Tales of Arise to PS5, with the detailled steps to follow whether you own the physical or digital version of the new JRPG.
Tales of Arise is the first worldwide release the series ever had, and is a cross-gen game, releasing on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. Bandai Namco hopes to attract with Tales of Arise new fans to the franchise and bring it to new heights as well.

How to upgrade Tales of Arise from PS4 to PS5
If you bought the physical PS4 version of Tales of Arise and own a PS5 with a disc drive: First, if you haven't done that yet, you should log in to your PS5 with the same PSN account you use for your PS4.
After that, insert the PS4 version of Tales of Arise's disc into your PS5, go to the game hub for the game, and select the upgrade offer to start downloading the PS5 digital version. Note that even when the download is complete, if you want to play the game in the future, you'll always need to insert the game in your PS5 first.
If you own the digital PS4 version of Tales of Arise alongside a digital-only PS5: Sign in into your PS5 with the same PSN account you use on PS4. Go to the PlayStation Store and search for the PS5 version of the game, and go to the game hub of the PS5 version. Select the upgrade offer in the game hub and start downloading the game.
