The Pokemon series has had a lot of different mechanics that have been introduced over the years and one of the many that have been carried over to Pokemon Legends Arceus is the Friendship mechanic and it is important to know just how to increase that very stat.

There are a lot of stats related to Pokemon, whether it is related to their base stats with HP, Attack, Defense, and more.

There are also some stats that are more game-dependent outside of those and Friendship is one of those that plays a role yet again in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

What Is Friendship In Pokemon?

While most people think that Friendship was first introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver, it actually goes back to Pokemon Yellow with keeping up with your Pikachu's happiness.

Friendship was expanded upon in Gen II to all Pokemon, which would start at a base Friendship and could then be increased. In that game and beyond you could even use a Friend Ball to start the Pokemon with a higher level, but that is not a factor in this game.

The Friendship mechanic then changed over time, with certain Pokemon starting with different Friendship levels and more depending on the game.

By increasing your Friendship level with Pokemon, they will be happier in general and certain Pokemon will evolve when they reach a certain Friendship level and level up again.

Pokemon like Espeon and Umbreon were examples of this back then and once again are in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

How To Increase Friendship Level In Pokemon Legends Arceus

With Friendship level being a requirement for certain evolutions, this means that increasing it is even more important.

Increasing Friendship is something that you won't be keeping up with outright, but there are ways to continually increase it over time to where they will be able to evolve.

The first step is to make sure you are using the Pokemon that you want to raise the Friendship level of in battle as much as you can. While doing that, you also need to make sure not to let them faint as much as you can, as that can hinder your progress a bit.

Next up is to use the Pokemon itself to gather different items from the wild, such as tossing them out to hit trees or rocks.

Lastly, there are also variations of EXP Candy to find in the game that differ from the usual Rare Candy. These EXP Candy will help to increase the Friendship level even quicker and allow you to evolve the Pokemon that need the stat to be higher.
