Destruction AllStars is one of the free PS+ games for February and it's looking like it's going to be one of the hottest multiplayer games of the year. Although it's only been out for a few hours at this point, plenty of players have been logging on to create some mayhem. A problem has quickly been noticed with the game's online features: you cannot mute the lobby chat. For those of us who don't enjoy chatting with internet randos when we sit down to play a game, the lack of a mute all function in the lobby is quite the dealbreaker. Lucky for you, my fellow introvert, I've figured it out.

At first glance, it seems like you cannot mute everyone in the lobby or even individual players in Destruction AllStars through the game's UI. However, to mute the entire in-game lobby all you need to do is join a game, tap the PS button on your controller, select the leftmost box in the menu UI, and hit square. Voila! Now you don't need to hear about who exactly in the chat is having extra-marital affairs with your mother.

Destruction AllStars is making use of the new DualSense controller's built-in mic to help players chat which is a cool idea, but the lack of a mute button feels like a pretty big oversight. If this becomes a big enough issue maybe muting people will be patched into the game but only time will tell.
