Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are almost here, but there some plenty of gamers that may not want to wait until Friday and want to play it early.

One method here would be to get lucky and hope your physical version of the game is delivered a day early or you happen to find a shop that is accidentally selling them early.

The purpose of this article is instead referring to other means with the digital version instead that will allow you to play Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl early, though with some headaches along the way.

How To Play Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Early?

As Nintendo published games almost always go live at midnight local time on their release date, one way to play Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl early is to get the game from a region that is further ahead of you time-wise.

UTC+ 14:00 is the very first time zone to see the time change over to a brand new day, meaning anything after that will be getting the game later than countries in this time zone. This is a very small time zone though with part of Samoa, while the first big one would be UTC+13:00 that houses New Zealand.

New Zealand in particular is in the Nintendo Australia region, so that is the eShop that you would need to use to get the game earliest, though you can also choose later regions such as countries in Europe. However, you won't be able to get the game as early there.

Do You Change Account Country Or Make A New Account?

While you can just change the country on your Nintendo Account to access the eShop for another country, I would not recommend doing that to play Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl early. That can be useful to go on the Japanese eShop to get the different versions of the SNES Online and such for different game selections, but that is because you won't be paying anything.

The issue that arises is that while it's not that difficult to change regions on your My Nintendo account, you cannot change regions while you still have any sort of balance on your account. The last thing you want to do is add money to your account and have excess credit on it to where you cannot change accounts.

Instead, you will want to create a brand new account with a different email address. Make sure to select the region that you want for this account and when you sign into it on your Nintendo Switch, it should take you to that region.

The problem here that will now come up is that you cannot use your American payment cards on foreign eShops and vice versa. As a result, you're going to need to buy eShop balance cards for the country you have chosen to switch to from another source. Be careful when doing this too, because there are plenty of shady sellers out there that may steal your information and not provide you what you paid for.

If you choose to go through with this, add the balance to the shop and purchase Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that should allow you to play early when it hits midnight in that region's time zone.

Is It Worth It?

In the end, this is a question that will really be up to the person on whether it's worth it to go through this trouble to play Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl early. This is a lot of trouble to go through just to get a game a few hours early, especially with the different regional eShop and having to get currency.

In my opinion, you're better off just waiting for the game to release officially in your region, but you could just adjust things a bit to get said game earlier from a different time zone within your same region to save at least some trouble.

Either way, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be releasing at midnight local time on Friday, November 18.
