If you wonder how you can tame Sinomacrops in Ark Lost Island, we can show you the way!

Ark Lost Island is a brand new free DLC for Ark Survival Evolved that launched on December 14. This new expansion offers a new map as well as some new creatures, one of which could offer you incredibly helpful benefits if you manage to tame it.

Known as Sinomacrop, this flying creature has some abilities that you might not even guess by looking at its size. Once you tame it, you can use it as secondary back bling for yourself, which allows you to fly high altitudes as if you're using a jetpack. Also, having Sinomacrop ensures that you won't get any fall damage as it acts similar to a parachute when falling even if your stamina is zero.

Last but not least, you can also glide using Sinomacrops, which provides high-speed traversal in the world of Ark and in Lost Island.

How to Tame Sinomacrops in Ark Lost Island?

First of all, you need to collect some Chitin as it is the most favorite food of Sinomacrops. Keep in mind that you should never wear Chitin-made armors when you are close to Sinomacrops as they will attack you and kill you.

Now that you have Chitin, look for a Sinomacrop in the jungles of Lost Island. Sinomacrops can be found everywhere on the island. Once you find one, gently get closer, and you will see Sinomacrop coming towards you and asking for Chitin. Feed it with a Chitin, and then it will fly away, but don't worry!

Open your menu, go to the taming tab, and enable the tracking of Sinomacrop. Now you can see where it is going. Follow it, and once it lands, feed it with another piece of Chitin. This cycle will repeat a few times more until you completely tame Sinomacrop. Just keep in mind that you cannot trap Sinomacrop inside anything for the purpose of taming.

Once done, you can choose your Sinomacrop's name and equip it as back bling for yourself. (Thank you, Cjthecheesedj!)

Ark Survival Evolved is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
