Sony released a new trailer today to reveal a talented voice actor that be lending his voice to LittleBigPlanet 3, revealing none other than Hugh Laurie as a member of the games cast.

Laurie, most well known for his role as Dr. Gregory House on the medical drama House, will be voicing the games primary antagonist Newton. While grabbing for Hollywood actors to do vocal performances has a rather mixed history in video games, Laurie seems rather excited about the role in the brief interview and enthralled by the charm of the world of LittleBigPlanet. When talking about the role, he said that:

I took Newton to be an enthusiast, first off all. He has a dark side but you have to love the character, you have to love the world of it and you have to throw yourself in. It's actually not nearly as different as I might've thought ten years ago, I might have though 'this is a whole different thing, I don't know anything about this.' But actually, storytelling is storytelling whatever form it takes.

It's also noteworthy that Laurie will co-star next to long time friend Stephen Fry, whom the two starred together in British TV series such as A Bit of Fry & Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster from the late 80s into the early 90s. Fry will take up the role as the games narrator, guiding players through the games story. Funnily enough, Laurie didn't even know his long time friend was even working on the game with him till he arrived at the studio.

I'm excited to see what Laurie will bring to the game as well as Fry, but maybe I'm just a sucker for British comedians. Either way, look forward to LittleBigPlanet 3 on Ps3 and Ps4 on Novemeber 18th and checkout the video of Laurie below.
