Originally released in 2016, Heart Machine's Hyper Light Drifter earned critical acclaim for its deep and challenging RPG gameplay, and with its upcoming release on Nintendo Switch, the latest release for the title will have a few new surprises in store.

GameXplain detailed in a new gameplay video that Hyper Light Drifter on Nintendo Switch, which is scheduled to arrive for the system sometime this summer, will also include some new content in the form of a new weapon and area, which will be exclusive to the Switch release.

The weapon itself will be a powerful new double sword that players can obtain (though the exact method of obtaining it is not known just yet), while a new area will also be included in the Switch release to give players a new environment to explore.

In addition to the new content that the Switch version will release with, GameXplain's video also confirmed that the title will also run at 1080p, 60fps when playing in the Switch's docked configuration.

Hyper Light Drifter is available now for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux, and will be coming to Nintendo Switch sometime this summer. For more on the game, you can read our review of the game from when it released on PS4.
