Originally released in 2016, Hyper Light Drifter drew critical acclaim for its compelling mix of beautiful 8-bit and 16-bit inspired art with a dark tone and challenging gameplay, with the game officially heading to the Nintendo Switch in the near future.
Nintendo has announced today that Hyper Light Drifter will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch this summer, allowing Switch owners the chance to experience the indie RPG on the hybrid portable/home system.
Coming nearly two years after it released on consoles and PC, the Switch release will give a new audience of players the chance to experience the particularly challenging (but rewarding) Hyper Light Drifter, and personally I’ll be looking forward to playing it on the Switch when it arrives this summer.
Of course, plenty of other indie games are coming to the Switch this year, as Nintendo revealed during today’s Nindies Direct that announced titles such as The Banner Saga series, Mark of the Ninja Remastered, and more coming to the system in the near future.
Hyper Light Drifter is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux, and will be heading to the Nintendo Switch sometime this summer.
