Hyrule Warriors Ships 1 Million Units Worldwide

The Wii U exclusive action game Hyrule Warriors has apparently been performing quite admirably.

Developer and Japanese publisher Tecmo Koei revealed that the game has cleared one million shipped units worldwide. While it doesn’t sound as instantly lofty as selling one million units, this is still a considerable feat for a Wii U exclusive title, and though it features the characters of the Zelda universe it drops the Zelda moniker, making this seem like more than the series’ staggering brand power at work.

The continuous DLC releases have also perhaps helped contribute to the game’s continued success. I’m sure we’ll be seeing either the obligatory repackage or a full sequel for the game sooner than later.

To celebrate the feat, various new wallpapers have been shared via the game’s Japanese website. Check them out below.
