Famitsu has unveiled several new details about the upcoming Wii U title Hyrule Warriors, which will be playable at E3 next month.

Link, an in-training soldier in Hyrule Warriors, will embark on a journey to rescue Princess Zelda from Shia, a witch that has apparently turned evil. Different weapons, both light and heavy, will change the way the characters fight. In addition, Hyrule Warriors will contain the classic Z-targeting feature from the Zelda series, allowing players to avoid enemy attacks and focus on weak spots.

In an interesting detail, two-player action will be supported, allowing one to play on the GamePad screen while the other will play on the TV screen.

While Hyrule Warriors has an August 14th release date in Japan, a Western date has yet to be confirmed. More details should emerge during E3.
