If You Buy Destiny on PS3 or Xbox 360 You'll Be Able to Download it on PS4 and Xbox One for Free

If you don’t have a PS4 or Xbox One yet, but plan on upgrading in the future without wanting to miss on Destiny‘s massively anticipated launch, good guy Bungie is willing to help.

The developer announced today that purchasing the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 will grant you the right to download it on PS4 or Xbox One without any additional expense.

This is limited to the same console brand, so if you buy the PS3 version you’ll get the PS4 version, and if you buy the game on Xbox 360, you’ll also be able to download the Xbox One version.

The offer is only for digital purchases, unfortunately, and extends to the digital base game, the digital guardian edition and the season pass. That say, those that got the physical limited edition and Ghost edition will at least be able to upgrade the season pass.

In order to take advantage of the offer, you’ll have to purchase the game before January 15th, 2015, and you will actually retain access to the old-gen version as well. To clarify any doubt Bungie published an extensive FAQ, which you can find here.

In the meanwhile, if you want to start playing directly on PS4, you can check out our Destiny PS4 bundle giveaway.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
