Ikumi Nakamura to Appear as a Presenter at The Game Awards
This is the wholesome content that I was looking for.
After becoming an Internet superstar earlier this year at E3 2019, it was announced today that former director of Ghostwire: Tokyo, Ikumi Nakamura, will be taking the stage later this week at The Game Awards.
Geoff Keighley, the producer and host of The Game Awards, announced today over on Twitter that Nakamura will be appearing at the show when it transpires this Thursday. Nakamura will be a presenter at the show, meaning that she’ll be handing over an award to one of the night’s big winners. Nakamura joins other previously announced presenters at the show such as former Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime.

During Bethesda’s E3 2019 briefing earlier this year, Nakamura rose to stardom after presenting a look at Tango Gameworks’ upcoming project Ghostwire: Tokyo. Her wholesome, lovable demeanor that she exuded while on stage immediately won her points with many in the gaming community. Nakamura surprisingly ended up being one of the most memorable aspects of E3 2019 as a whole and was discussed even as much as Keanu Reeves. Her appearance here at The Game Awards will surely please many who fell in love with Nakamura’s joyful character earlier this year.
While Nakamura will be appearing at The Game Awards though, don’t expect her to reveal anything about Ghostwire: Tokyo. Since announcing the game at E3, Nakamura ended up surprisingly leaving Tango Gameworks in September of this year. As of now, she still hasn’t announced what studio she will be working at next, but she has been transparent on Twitter in recent months about how she’s looking to eventually join another team.
The Game Awards are set to take place this Thursday, December 12, and will kick off at 8:30pm EST/5:30pm PST.
