This really is a game that I have heard very little about, and when the demo hit last week, I looked at it and didn’t think much of it. Well it seems that this game is more anticipated than I could have ever imagined. In only a week, the demo has been downloaded on the PSN and XBLA over 1 million times cumulatively.

One million demo downloads clearly showcases undeniable interest in IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey among gamers, said Adam Kline, president of 505 Games U.S. “With the amount of attention paid to every detail of this title, from environments based on a hybrid of period maps and satellite data to our powerful tangible damage effects engine to audio recorded from vintage aircraft, we’re thrilled that so many players are eager to play this year’s most authentic World War II flight combat game.

I guess it is time to give this demo a download and see what all the buzz is about. The game is set to release September 8, 2009 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and September 15, 2009 for Nintendo DS and Sony PSP.
