Campo Santo, the studio that developed last year's critically acclaimed Firewatch, announced their next project via a gameplay trailer today at The Game Awards: In the Valley of Gods.

The trailer features two explorers venture through 1920's Eygpt. According to the developers, players control a disgraced filmmaker and explorer named Rashida, who has one last chance to be adventurous and prove herself to the world. She receives help from Zora, a former colleague who Rashida has a strained relationship with. In the Valley of Gods seems to have a heavy focus on Egyptian history and early film making, both of which are topics I am extremely interested in, and believe Campo Santo can handle well due to Firewatch's great narrative.

The game's website and Steam page are live, so you can check those out and wish-list the game if you like. Unfortunately, players won't be able to get their hands on the game until 2019, and the Steam page doesn't give a hint at what the system requirements for In the Valley of Gods may be.

You can check out the reveal trailer for the game from The Game Awards below. Currently, In the Valley of Gods is only confirmed to be releasing on PC, and will hit that platform in 2019.
