Increpare Once Again Makes Me Feel Dumb With Promises

on March 4, 2012 3:30 PM

Indie dev Increpare has a penchant for making extremely clever games that never cease to embarrass my intellect every single time, and his newest game, Promises, is no exception.

As with all his games, the premise is simple, but the insight behind the gameplay is anything but. Promises┬áis a single-room puzzle game, where you must free a princess from her dungeon. In order to do so, three keys must be obtained by the three men shown on the map. In order to earn all three, however, you’re going to have to agree to each man’s promise. Fail to do so, and you’ll have to start from scratch.

It’s a definite noodle-scratcher, and one that you really must play here.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
