Indie Game Minecraft is Making its Creator Bank
Minecraft, a sandbox game currently in development by Markus Persson has practically overnight become a PC sensation and has earned such an eager crowd, the game is revealed to be bringing in some serious bucks. From what a report by Texyt says, the game is selling like hotcakes at one game being purchased every three seconds. In September the indie game netted in almost $350,000 with the sale of 26,000 copies on September 22.

The game is a survival sandbox game with a first person shooter point of view. In order to survive in Minecraft‘s land, the player must be able to build tools for shelter construction and weapons. In order to creates said tools and weapons, players must mine the block land they were dropped on.

Persson himself seems pretty shocked his game is raking in so much. “It all feels unreal. I thought I could make a living from the game, but I did not expect to become rich.” The game, while still in its beta phases, costs about $13.50 in the U.S. or 9.95 euros in Europe. What makes this a good deal for peopl who are interested enough to buy it is the fact that this is the only thing you’ll be paying for. All updates will be for free for as long as the game is around.

But act soon, because once the game is out of beta, the price is expected to rise.

Being a gamer since the age of 6 (thanks to my parents), a desire to pursue a career in the gaming industry has been my passion ever since I laid my hands on Sonic the Hedgehog. Some of my favorite games include Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Duke Nukem 3D, Final Fantasy 6, Killer7 and both the Devil May Cry and Resident Evil series.
