Industry veteran and creator of Xiotek Studios Byron Atkinson-Jones released a new game onto Steam in December 2016. Shortly afterward, a depressed feeling fell over him, but instead of allowing it to take hold of him, he decided to throw himself into a new project. That project became Promethium.

Promethium is a hardcore tactical space fighter played over the course of 20 levels. The objective of each level is to destroy each ship of the Promethium Armada, which is on its way to Earth for a not-so-friendly encounter with Earthlings. However, the Armada's goal isn't to simply destroy our planet, it is to use it as a dumping ground for toxic waste.

In order to defeat the Armada, players must hack their ships by flowing over shield generators. Once shields are down, the ships will self-destruct and victory is ours. However, Xiotek promises that this task is easier said than done since these ships are heavily guarded by other fighters, mines, and turrets.

Those who are attending London MCM Comic Con will get to see Promethium in action first-hand on May 26. If you're not so lucky, check out the trailer below and wait for more news to come soon. Promethium will soon be launching on Steam, followed shortly after by an expected PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release.
