Indie Studio Vlambeer Releasing Art Book to Celebrate Six Years of Game Development
Among the independent game community, the studio Vlambeer have been particularly known for their diverse and eclectic line of games such as Super Crate Box, Ridiculous Fishing, and Nuclear Throne, with the studio’s sixth birthday bringing with it a particularly big surprise for fans of the studio.
In a blog post update from Vlambeer on the company’s website, the studio revealed a new art book called 120 Years of Vlambeer and Friends, which collects the studio’s behind-the-scenes artwork, concepts, photos, and more from the company’s first six years of making games.
Published by Cook & Becker and written by Arjan Terpstra (Killzone Visual Design), the book will feature over 150 pages of “everything” that Vlambeer has made, including a 20,000-word essay on the history of the company.
The artbook will be released in two versions, with the standard edition available for $39.99, and a limited edition version to also be available for $139.50. Included in the Limited Edition are signatures from co-founders Rami Ismail and Jan Willem Nijman, a special collector’s box, a numbered art print, a custom Vlambeer notebook, and a collection of all of Vlambeer’s games (including several prototype games).
Vlambeer’s upcoming artbook 120 Years of Vlambeer and Friends is currently available to pre-order through publisher Cook & Becker, with release and shipping expected in November 2016.
