Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction Volume 11 was released this July 30 in Japan, and Inio Asano shared some pretty interesting comments on his latest manga via Twitter, we translated them below.

After over seven years and multiple hiatuses, the weirdest alien-themed manga of the decade penned by critically acclaimed Inio Asano is about to reach its end.

Advertising the release of Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction volume 11, Inio Asano shared on Twitter: "This volume includes all the drawing techniques I can do. It was a loooot of work. As for the serialization, I aim to finish it by the end of this year!"

In a follow-up tweet, Inio Asano added: "If you're the type of person who likes to restart reading a manga from the beginning right before its ending is published, then you should restart reading now".

Inio Asano has been publishing manga since as far as 2002, and most notably became recognized with Goodnight Punpun, a tale focusing on black humor and dealing with depression.

Another popular work of his is Solanin, which was nominated for the 2009 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material - Japan. Solanin was later adapted into a movie in 2010.

Manga by Inio Asano often focuses on characters in seemingly mundane everyday lives, only for them to add psychological (horror) and deeper themes. Dead Dead Demon is one of these manga. Started in 2014, it's a sci-fi story dealing with how the everyday life of a group of schoolgirls is affected, or not, by the fact that giant alien motherships have appeared over Japan. Inio Asano is one of the most unique mangaka out there and one you should definitely try out.
