In an interview with IGN, actress Jurnee Smollett-Bell reveals that her interpretation of Black Canary for the upcoming Birds of Prey film drew inspration from 2017's Injustice 2.

"I drew a lot of inspriation for the Canary Cry from the Black Canary in Injustice 2," says Smollett-Bell. "Even physically, for me, I really wanted to make it primal...It's not something she uses, it's something she's trying to hide. So to get to the point, she has to rev herself up. It's such a guttural point and a guttural place. But it was fun, man," continues Smollett-Bell. "They put a bunch of people on some strings and ratcheted them back, and it was awesome! I felt pretty powerful."

During the same interview, actress Margot Robbie revealed her brother was one of the stuntment attatched to wires during the Canary Cry scenes.

Directed by Cathy Han and written by Christina Hodson, the movie also stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as The Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, and Ewan McGregor as Black Mask just to name a few cast members.
