Injustice 2 Twitter Teasing Announcement on January 17: ‘The Lines are Redrawn’

It’s been awhile since the well of Injustice 2 news ran dry. The last substantial content we got was back in August with the announcement of Harley Quinn and Deadshot. But it seems like NetherRealm Studios and Warner are ready to open the floodgates.

The official twitter for Injustice 2 sent out a post yesterday saying that more news will drop on January 17. You can see the tweet below as it contains a gif of Superman cradling what looks to be a dead (or unconscious) Supergirl. Possibly even Lois Lane. The tagline reads ‘The Lines are Redrawn’ hinting that the reveal will be some sort of story mode trailer.

Further confirming this theory was a tweet from the US PlayStation account with yet another gif. This time it’s definitely Supergirl and she does a ‘superhero landing’ amongst of the ruins of a city. The tagline this time is ‘A new threat approaches…’

The PlayStation tweet makes it sound like the Jan 17 announcement will be exclusively on their US blog but it’s hard to confirm at the moment. There’s also a slight chance that the new threat mentioned in post could refer to the rumored Darkseid who recently popped up as a (possible) pre-order bonus.

Whatever the details may be, I’m still stoked to see more Injustice 2 news finally come down the pipeline. With the roster sitting at a paltry 10 characters and the newly revealed May release date only a few months away, it’s time for the real fantasy battle to begin.

Will anyone from your wishlist make it? Will I finally get to see Swamp Thing, Clayface, or Vixen suit up? I guess I’ll have to wait just (hopefully) a little longer.
