Injustice 2 Tops UK Sales Charts For Second Straight Week; RiME Debuts at No.27

PS4 and Xbox One game Injustice 2 from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. once again tops UK Sales Charts.

The 21st week of the 2017 UK Sales Charts are in, and just like last week, fighting game Injustice 2 from publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer NetherRealm Studios sits prettily at the top.

The title notably is now among six others titles in 2017 to retain the No.1 position two weeks running, others include: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, For Honor, Resident Evil VI, GTA V, and Mass Effect: Andromeda. For some of these games, this hasn’t translated to impeccable sales — as in the case of Mass Effect: Andromeda — and is partially a result of when the game itself released, aka it didn’t release on top of another monster game like how Horizon Zero: Dawn did with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands.

As you may know, Injustice 2 marks Warner Bros.’ first No.1 in 2017 and is notably the first fighting game to hold the honor since NetherRealm’s last game: Mortal Kombat X (Week 18, 2015).

Elsewhere on the charts , Activision and Blizzards Overwatch climbs 16 spots to come in at No.2, followed by the ever-present GTA V at No.3, and the also ever-present FIFA 17 at No.4. Rounding out the top five is Bethesda and Arkane Studios’ Prey, which was notably No.1 two weeks ago when it launched.

Speaking of Arkane Studios, it’s 2016 release Dishonored 2 re-entered the charts and came in at No.8. Meanwhile, last week’s No.2 Farpoint — a PS VR exclusive — dropped all the way to N0.19.

As for news releases making their way onto the charts, there is three: Tequila Work’s RiME, which notably launched with only a day’s worth of sales (it launched on Friday and the chart only accumulates for says through Saturday), Nintendo Switch’s Disgaea 5: Complete at No.36, and Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter II for Nintendo Switch at No.10.

Here’s the full Top 40 for Week 21 2017 (the week ended on May 27th):

It’s important to note this only includes physical sales, and not digital sales.
