Back in early May, NetherRealm Studios announced its first batch of Injustice 2 DLC characters. Since then Red Hood made his way into game on June 13 and Mortal Kombat's very own Sub Zero is set to follow on July 11.Ed Boon the Director over at NetherRealm Studios, and one of the pioneers behind the Mortal Kombat series announced the character's release date via his personal Twitter.

Boon had recently just shown off a new trailer featuring the icy Lin Kuei master at E3 this year. Sub Zero has been a part of the Mortal Kombat series since its debut back in 1992. He's the first guest character outside of the DC universe to be making an appearance in the game.

Starfire is the third and final character that was announced alongside Sub Zero and Red Hood. She's most well known for her role in the Teen Titans. No release date is currently set for her but based on how fast the other characters are being added to the game, her release probably isn't too far off.

Injustice 2 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. You can check out our review of the game right here.
