In a tweet from Insomniac Games' Twitter, they confirm that players will get to play as a female Lombax in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.The tweet gets right to the point by saying "Play as Ratchet AND a mysterious new female Lombax from another dimension."

Besides the confirmation, not much else is known about the female Lombax. She made her appearance towards the end of the announcement trailer for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Moments after the reveal, Insomniac released more screenshots showing the game in action, including a look at the female Lombax. In addition to her reveal, we also got our first look at the gameplay and how it remains faithful to the other games in the series that came before it.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was announced during PlayStation's Future of Gaming showcase last week. Based on the trailer, we'll not only get a chance to explore different planets and time periods, but we'll get to use that ability during gameplay.

Other major first-party announcements include looks at Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Horizon: Forbidden West. Third-party games such as Deathloop, Resident Evil VIII: Village, and Ghostwire: Tokyo also made an appearance. Additionally, we received our first look at what the PlayStation 5 looks like.

While it doesn't have a release date, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will launch on the PlayStation 5. As for the PS5, it'll release later this year, though we also don't know how much it'll cost.
